Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the ExpertDocs mobile and web application (“the app” or “the service”), provided by Voinea David-Adrian, an individual developer based in Romania (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What ExpertDocs does
ExpertDocs lets you scan or import documents, organize them in folders, mark favorites, record expiry dates, lock the app with biometrics, optionally encrypt your files, and export or delete your data. ExpertDocs is a personal storage and organization tool.
Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use the app.
- You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details confidential.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your content
You keep all rights to the documents and other content you add (“Your Content”). You give us only the limited permission needed to store, process and display Your Content to you in order to provide the service.
You promise that you have the right to store Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break the law. Please add only documents that belong to you or that you are allowed to hold.
Encryption and your passphrase
Encryption is optional. If you turn it on, your files and titles are encrypted with a key derived from a passphrase that only you know. We cannot recover or reset this passphrase. If you lose it, we cannot restore access to your encrypted documents. You are responsible for keeping your passphrase safe and for keeping copies of anything you cannot afford to lose, for example with the export feature.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful, or to store unlawful content;
- attempt to access other users’ accounts or data, or to disrupt or overload the service;
- reverse engineer, copy or resell the app, except where the law allows it;
- use the app to create or store forged or fraudulent documents.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the app available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may update, change or discontinue features, and will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes. We recommend exporting your documents from time to time.
Ending your use
You can stop using ExpertDocs at any time and can delete your account in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). Deleting your account permanently removes your documents and data and cannot be undone. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these Terms or put the service or other users at risk.
Intellectual property
The app, its design, name and logo belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted operation. We do not warrant that your documents will never be lost or damaged, which is why you should keep originals and backups.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the app, including loss caused by a forgotten passphrase. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Consumers keep all rights granted to them by mandatory consumer protection law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make material changes we will change the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, and the competent courts of Romania will have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
